KTEI Language Support and Commitment
As one of many education and training partners located on Mnidoo Mnising, KTEI is committed to supporting the Anishinabek Language Declaration made by the United Chiefs and Councils of Mnidoo Mnising for students and for employees within our many First Nation organizations. We strive to design and plan programs that will meet the various language learning needs of a diverse learners. In this declaration,
"The United Chiefs and Councils of Mnidoo Mnising assert the right to revitalize, use, develop and transmit to future generations their histories, languages, oral traditions, philosophies, writing systems and literatures, and to designate and retain their own names for communities, places and persons".
In this declaration, it is further asserted:
"The United Chiefs and Councils of Mnidoo Mnising will take effective measures to ensure that this right is protected, and will ensure that individuals employed in the United Chiefs and Councils of Mnidoo Mnising territory will perform and provide all work and service functions in their ancestral language by 2030".
