Smart Serve - PendingTo provide a standard method of delivering a responsible service training certificate program to all individuals in the province of Ontario who serve or work where alcohol beverages are sold and served. Smart Serve is a self-paced training program. Upon completion of the program, individuals will be aware of: their responsibilities and obligations under the law, proactive approaches to preventing alcohol-related problems, how to recognize signs of intoxication, how to implement intervention strategies for aggressive customers. At the conclusion of the Program a test consisting of 25 multiple-choice questions is completed. Successful candidates receive a wallet size certificate and lapel pin.

Boat Safety - Coming soon...Spring 2012The requirement to have a Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) was introduced to improve the competency and safety of Canadians who venture out in boats for recreational activity. The course covers a full range of basic boating information such as: minimum safety equipment requirements required on board your boat; the Canadian Buoy system; how to share waterways; a review of all pertinent regulations; and how to respond in an emergency situation. Successful candidates who pass an accredited test will qualify for a Pleasure Craft Operator Card. The operator card is good-for-life.

Beginner Digital Photography - Winter 2012 Pending This is a hands-on course designed specifically for the beginner digital photographer who is interested in getting to know their digital camera better, taking better landscape, portrait and macro photos by using elements of design, other ways to improve photography, and advanced operations (aperture priority and shutter priority). Students will have the opportunity for ‘in-class’ and ‘in –field’ each session.

Motorcycle Licence Course - Pending Learn to Ride using the Canada Safety Council’s national Gearing Up curriculum designed for the novice and experienced riders. Topics covered include balancing, braking, cold starting, stopping, moving off and stopping, correct gear changing, signalling and shoulder checking, slow-riding and pattern riding, traffic behaviour, collision avoidance, introduction to decision-making, emergency braking and dealing with obstacles. Participants must attend the full course hours to complete the course requirements. Students successfully completing the course will qualify for class "M2" motorcycle license. Testing occurs on the final night of the course. A valid M1 license must be obtained prior to the first night of the course.

WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) - Ongoing
The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is Canada’s national hazard communication standard. The key elements of the system are cautionary labelling of containers of WHMIS "controlled products", the provision of material safety data sheets (MSDSs) and worker education and training programs. This WHMIS course is an effective and interactive way to keep you and your employees up-to-date with WHMIS training requirements. This course meets the needs of both first time and refresher training. A training certificate is issued and emailed to the Account Supervisor upon completion. The course covers: WHMIS Introduction & Regulations, WHMIS Roles & Responsibilities, WHMIS Symbols, WHMIS Labels, Controlled Products, MSDS Forms, Interactive exercises, tests & certificate.
